Tiger's Eye
Symbol: Courage & Strength
Tiger's Eye is a form of quartz with a silky, golden-brown sheen. It forms when parallel fibers of the mineral crocidolite are gradually replaced by quartz, a process called pseudomorphism. Light reflecting off these aligned fibers creates a shifting band of brightness across the stone, an effect known as chatoyancy.
Where It Comes From
South Africa is the primary source of Tiger's Eye, with additional deposits in Australia, India, and Brazil.
