Sapphire
Symbol: Wisdom & Clarity
Sapphire is corundum in any color other than red, which is called ruby instead. Most famous in a deep blue caused by trace iron and titanium, sapphire also occurs naturally in pink, yellow, green, and colorless varieties.
Where It Comes From
Kashmir produced some of history's most prized "cornflower blue" sapphires, though that source is now largely depleted. Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Madagascar, and Australia are major sources today.
What Different Peoples Believed

| Medieval European clergy | Worn by kings and clergy as a symbol of heaven and truth. |
| Ancient Greece and Rome | Worn by royalty, believed to offer protection from harm. |
