Moonstone

Moonstone is a feldspar stone, one of the most common mineral families in the world. Its soft, floating glow — like moonlight moving under a thin cloud — comes from thin layers inside the stone. Light passes through these layers and scatters, creating a gentle shimmer. This effect is called adularescence.

Where It Comes From

Moonstone is mined mainly in Sri Lanka and India, with more sources in Madagascar, Myanmar, and Brazil. It has been used in jewelry for thousands of years.
